Message from the President

China has been a close Asian neighbor to Japan since the legend of Xu-Fu (徐福) in the Qin Shi Huang period (秦始皇)and Himiko (卑弥呼)of the Gishiwajinden (魏志倭人傳), and Japan and China have always been each other throughout our long histories. For Japan, China has become indispensable as the largest trading partner country after the United States. Japan has become the third-largest trading partner to China, behind the EU and the US. Asahi Trading Co., Ltd. has been looking forward to the relations between Japan and China in the 21st century since the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Since our establishment in 1968, we have been consistently deepening friendly relations and developing trade relations with China.

China is one of the leaders in global business, which is becoming a driving force in the global economy, and we can see it is becoming increasingly significant. Establishing a creditable and feasible business relationship is set as our first principle. We are steadily developing businesses in all potential areas, focusing on steel products and infrastructure projects such as transportation and logistics. We take on all possible chances in trading.

As is well known, China has its own unique culture and values nurtured by its long history. Person-to-persone relationships and partnerships backed by mutual trust still tend to be emphasized in the business field. Based on a thorough understanding of the differences in customs, social norms, values, and positions due to the differences in history and national conditions between Japan and China, we are pursuing mutual benefits and development. Through business, we are working to strengthen the relationship between the two countries to achieve friendship and further Japan-China fusion. In the future, our companies in China will continue to expand.

China’s economy will become more and more prosperous. As excepted by both Japan and China and based on the trusting relationship we have built with China, our company always accurately ascertains trends and is sensitive to customer needs, while expanding healthy trade, focusing on the principle of “customer first”, and always moving forward to provide the best service for customers.
